View Full Version : Nimrod packs
I think I may have just found my dream backpack system. made by Nimrod packs (http://nimrodpacks.com/hunt/N400.html) . Does anyone have any experience with their gear? I'm this close to hitting the order button :) .
Now they do look nice. The Nimrod Pinnacle Day Pack looks just the ticket to replace a bit of my kit thats on it's last legs  Let us know what it's like when you get it, because you know you will get it :lmao:

No,
No review please.
I can feel a stabbing pain in my wallet.
Don't make me poorer than I am already.

too complex with too much to break for my taste. A bit of jack of all trades master of non, but everyone has different requiremnts & tastes. I much prefer a well made plain sac with removable side pockets if need be.

That pack looks like a nice one... I like the idea of lugging everything around, making camp somewhere and modifying your pack for light walks.
removable side pockets are ok, I have a set with my bergen but you need to stash the yoke part somewhere and they're a pain in the rear end to take off and reattach well. It's just too much agro for me.
If the one you just ordered works well, I think you may be on to something good.
I just got a nice duluthpack one though which has nothing removable at all, infact there's no plastic on it at all, or nylon or anything modern... so you get an idea of my taste ;)
sorry about this but I cant say I like the look of those packs at all.
for the same money you could get yourself a kifaru: http://www.kifaru.net/MGpacks.htm

The back system looks comfier than most military/hunting packs, but it is really heavy at a little under 3kg's. If you are planning on walking any distance over many days, I'd look again.

I prefer to think of it as durable rather than heavy ;) . I probably won't use it as a full pack as I really don't get the chance for long trips :( . But as a daypack or a weekender it'll be good, and if I do get the chance to get out for longer I can combine it.
What really drew me to the system was that the packs sit low. I have a bit of back pain and prefer to keep loads lower down.
