It's been 25 years since I walked it, so some things will have changed, but just in case...

* Walk South to North - get the Derbyshire peat bogs over first.
* Don't rely on Wainwright's mention of a transport cafe for breakfast (just off route) It burned down around 1977.
* Pennyghent (sp?) really is as tall as it looks at the end of the day.
* Avoid the pork pies at the pub in Horton in Ribblesdale. (Probably changed hands by now though)
* if you eat the pork pies, try not to throw-up just outside your tent
* if you do throw-up, try not to witness the chickens eating the remains as your first sight of a new day.
* The Theakston's was particularly good at the Cross Keys in East Marston.

Um, better stop before I fill the site up with things that aren't there anymore.
