Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (29th July - 10th August) available until April 6th, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
It'll be a fair while before I'm set up to use it, but if you still have some when I've aquired the tools and space to work, that would be great! Thanks! :)

Thanks for all the replies. Lot's of useful info there.
I know I could order the scales in, and probably will do at first (now that I see how long it will take to dry the wood out!), but like the idea of creating something using locally found wood, supplied by mother nature.
Is artificial drying...
Apparently a sanitary towel and a condom are a good combination for self treating a head wound. Not easy to bandage your own head! ;)

Hi,
After following these forums for a while, I'm starting to feel inspired to make a knife! I'm just at the researching stage now and was wondering about the process of prepping wood (preferably found in local woodland etc.) For the scales..
Can anyone recommend any good resources that I...
I've no idea about the balance no soda idea, but you can buy really fine polishing pads, specifically for the job. Whatever you use to polish out the scratches, make sure you seal it properly before using it in the kitchen, as marble stains very easily. It scratches really easily too!

Oh okay, I didn't realise the homework was submitted. That explains the limited numbers, and makes the cost seem a bit more reasonable. It's still beyond my budget unfortunately, but hey ho, that's life! My life anyway haha!

No mention of a money back guarantee, but that wouldn't be a selling point for me.
With this format, he's not limited to 6 or 10 clients for a course, although he does seem to be limiting it to some degree!?! Is that so the price can be pushed up?

I was looking at this course, until I saw the price! And to be honest, I was a bit fed up with the hard sell by the time the price actually came up on the video. From what I saw, it would be a useful resource, but not worth £274 to me.
I'm even put off from doing one of his bushcraft courses...
I don't have an issue with them hamming it up for the camera's, it's the factual inaccuracies, that will get someone killed if they think they're doing the right thing, that get my goat!

Hi Dan,
I'm from Bracknell too. The bushcraft thing is quite new to me, although I've always had a passing interest.. Been into camping/hiking for years though..
Welcome aboard. ;)

I know what you mean.. I can't watch his shows. The amount of times I've seen him jump off waterfalls into the pool below!?! Like anyone would risk broken legs when it's all they can do to stay alive... If he's ever REALLY been in a survival situation, and it's not all just marketing lies, his...
To me, this isn't survival. This is a weird little fettish... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always thought that it uses more fluid to break down the concentrated amino acids etc, than you would actually take on, drinking wee.
It's bad enough when he drinks his own, but that's clearly not...
I used to do the same thing with bouldering problems, although would have to wait until my next trip to the wall to put the dream to the test... Always worked though! :)
