    Thats correct, if dog wood latex in leaf veins will enable leaf to stay together, images look like dogwood leaves

    Product quality.

    does depend on what product, i have some trestex overtrousers and they were expensive (but heavily reduced) and have actually proved to be excellent very comfortable, breathable and durable. In general products are cheap and nasty, but there is good stuff in there as well.

    agree with most of the plants but its not sheeps bit scabious, its either small or field scabious small umbellifer will be burnet saxifrage, not yarrow. looks like calcareous grassland so you might find salad burnet in there - leaves quite easy to iD and taste of cucumber

    I think they respond to flying ant swarms, ive often seen the same thing they are literally picking them off on the wing

    UK Wildflower ID Book - Recommendations please

    as a professional ecologist who teaches plant ID i would use Francis Rose the wildflower key, its not as technical as it looks and once you get used to it is fantastic. Nothing else works as well in my view

    Gor tex lined boots advice wanted

    I find gore tex liners don't last, make my feet hot in the summer and when they you get water overtopping get wet take twice as long to dry - horrible. I prefer unlined leather boots with sealskin socks when required - these last a few years but at least they are replaceable, dont like wearing...
