I had a day off today so i thought id sort the garge out and have a tinker.
Sort of inspired by medieval rondel daggers, its a triangular blade with hard wood handle and peened tang.

Made a sheath for an antler handled handled knife i bought off a forum member. I tried to get the stitch tension more even this time.

While the younglings are at grannies for the day i had a sit down and tinker with the leather and tools Ive recently got of ebay. The end result is this little pocket sheath for my edc folder.

Does anyone use a home vac sealer (for food) on a regular basis? Im interested in one as an alternative to tupperware type pots in the freezer and maybe the occasional home made mre for days out/camping.
Are the 40-60 quid ones capable in terms of sealing the bags and pulling a decent vacuum...
Dragged the bag of leather scraps out from the cupboard and knocked out some belt pouches for no other reason than something to do. Some are based on medieval patterns others are just put together with no pattern.

I got a chance go for a paddle in a workmates canoe and really enjoyed it. So after a quick ebay search.....brought this home yesterday :)

Ive always fancied trying some turning so when a second hand lathe popped up in the local free ads i was sucked in! managed to bodge this out of some 3year old cherry without really knowing what im doing...
It came with a box of stuff including 3 jaw chuck and some tools

I enjoyed making my wool smock so much i decided on a different project this time. i thought I'd try and copy a waistcoat i had.

Had a couple of hours free today so thought i'd prepare for the supposed apocalyptic winter we are due... 1cz blanket and a cheap fleece blanket.. .... Super toasty, think i actually need to make an unlined one for milder weather...
