Anyone tried seasoning the pan/pot? As in heating oil in it to produce a non-stick surface? Never occured to me before to do it to mess tin but I can't think why it shouldn't be done.

I've wondered if you could use it as a dutch oven. Heat it from below raised off the ground and putting embers in the top..? Never tried it but its crossed my mind.
