    Ben Orford knives...

Pretty expensive, but I still beam when I fondle mine. Absolutely wonderful knife. The sheath is stunning as well. I need to get my hands on some new wood so I can get back to carving.. Oh, his spoon knives are great too. I've made a whole collection of teaspoons with mine and ended up using it...

    Ferro Rods from Going Gear

I totally agree, Highbinder. The thickest one I got is especially surprising. Everytime I scrape it a glowing chunk just lands and keeps burning for a second or two. That'll help a lot. Thanks again, Duncan!

    Where do you carve?

In my computer room so I can have something playing on the pc while I work. In the summer I like to sit in the backyard with a crackling fire, some food and hot coffee.

A bunch of wooden things and questions on a cracked kuksa

Thanks for the fast response. The thickness of the rim is somewhere between a quarter of an inch and about half an inch, so there's plenty of room for thinning. Going to try again with a fresh chunk.

A bunch of wooden things and questions on a cracked kuksa

Various bits and pieces I made over 2010 when I started up with this hobby. A dolphin I made for a colleague in december for a sort of secret santa thing. There are still some red markings on it, but since it was soaked into the wood I couldn't get rid of it. Didn't want to paint it...

    RAT/Esee Izula users?

I think they're more expensive now that RAT has become ESEE though :( So they might have priced themselves out of their 'value for money' position.

    RAT/Esee Izula users?

I have one and I absolutely adore it. In the... year or so that I have it, it has been used to baton with, general cutting, prying around in saw cuts to get chunks out, you name it. I only had to sharpen it once so far and that was after a lot of heavy use over the winter. The sheath is a bit...

How do city folk learn bushcraft?

I live on the edge of a city and have learned a lot from watching youtube videos. After some searching, you can make a large list of channels with interesting stuff on them. Ofcourse, the important thing is to actually go out and put whatever you've learned through watching, listening and...

    Hello from the Netherlands

Hello everyone! I've been lurking around the site for a while now and decided it's time to join. My name is Gerard and I got into bushcraft about half a year ago. Before then I had already seen a lot of youtube videos but didn't do much with it. After spending many winter evenings exploring...
