Hello some unusual blade I found info about yesterday and thought I share it. Perhaps not very bushcraft related... Sword of Goujian more then 2000 years old and still very sharp and almost no sign of time. Found it quite amazing :D. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_of_Goujian...
Hello got a big spalted birch burl for free, it had been outside for 1 year. Thought I would do some knife/tool handles of it :). It was hard to handsaw in half, then I used an axe so it could fit under the band saw an then it was easy. You never know how the wood gonna look like :)...
Hello inspired by Sean Hellmans smart idea making a tool tidy http://seanhellman.blogspot.se/2014_02_01_archive.html I finally made this. Instead of the workspace looking like this:
it now looks like this:
Quick and dirty made from an old bed frame :D
Hello finished a flea market find. Don't worry nothing old got destroyed :). An unused and unfinished machine turned bowl from curly birch. Sanded it and finished it with linseed oil and beeswax.
And of course, two really comparable before and after pictures :D...

If its knotty, bent, twisted then the bow will have character. But if you never done like 20 bows before so give it a try, at least you get firewood and perhaps small blanks for knife handles :D. Bow making is an art like nothing else, I've done some bows but never a high pound one.
Nice knife find Mors :). I have dozen of old knifes "Jernbolaget Eskilstuna" there are some different names/logotypes but I rarely buy them for more then 10 sek each. If the brand is unknown for me I usually go by the handle quality. If the handle is exotic hardwood and large brass rivets then I...
It is a nice idea! I live in Sweden and I've see someone use that kind of "vise" but it is miles away from beeing common. Professional woodcarvers don't seem to use it.
Hello I reused an old fillet knife, changed the handle and made a leather sheath for it :). I glued the handle together, the tang is tapered toward the blade so no risk it gonna slip out so I skipped the pegs.
Hello I gonna do an axe mask and wanted a pre stich fork that I've seen people use. Well nowhere to buy it local and either out of stock or expensive or order from China via ebay. But then I thought "wait a minute I can do that, I got some forks!"... perhaps not as heavy duty bur works ok...
Hello found this beauty at a flea market for 20 Swedish Kronor. I could not resist. The design and build quality are very good but the finish seemed kinda rushed. So today I polished it up a bit and put on some beeswax and linseed oil :). I'm sorry but I can't find the english word for "svepask"...
