I have one of these
UST Ultimate Survival Technologies StrikeForce w/ Tinder Fire Starter
I got mine years ago but I can't find a UK supplier. They have a fearsome firesteel and a couple of esbit(?) tablets in the handle

I have the Farmer X and am constantly reminded that it's a more robust blade with a really aggressive awl and scissors. But I still have a tiny keychain Victorinox (Manager) on my house keys to provide tweezers.
Hello all wise ones! I need to ask for some advice, I have a few Opinels that I use for slicing food but they aren't in constant use and I find that after a while of not being used they get stuck in the folded position and I need to use pliers to open them and work them loose.
HELP!!!
Thanks...
They are essentially the same, both have locking handles and a creased pouring spout. I am a real fan of the Canturbury pots (both sizes) and have used them over gas burners and open fires with no problems at all. Today I received my Christmas pressie to my self and got a Kochanski pot...
I got one of the Silverfire clones by Lixada from Amazon and am so impressed that the second one was delivered this morning. The only drawback that I found was needing to keep feeding a supply of small wood pieces.
I found that one on Ebay and pulled the trigger, so I will update the thread once it's been delivered (Monday hopefully)
After looking at the details of both the BCB and the Snugpak the BCB looks superior so I would be interested in hearing why you prefer the Snugpak ?

Hello all, I would love to hear what you think of my choices for my next pack

Got mine this morning and already tried it out in the garden, it's ready well made and works beautifully!
As someone once said " a more elegant tool from a more civilised age"
Have a look around Ebay etc. for Alice pack accessories, I got a belt and two padded shoulder straps for about £10 but that was a few years ago. It turned a really good pack into a great pack.
