    many thanks folks..saved me alot of mucking about. my next mission is finding a source for the firesteel rods without handles as i dont want to have to hack up pre made ones..have only managed to find 1 on fleabay and that was 7 quid. cheers again

    my cat dumped on my last crop the dirty bugger.. its real easy to do by the way and when youve done it once you can make your own plugs for the next log.. i used ash wood last time..put some spore plugs in,put it in a bin liner in the shed for about a 10 months or so..keep it totaly...

    cheers wayland,it took a long time to find something that was just right.i bought 4 :)...just got to figure out how to get those cut edges really smooth and rounded now..the dremel i think the small handles on the side are flat and make perfect legs..it liftes it up a cm or so..plus you have...

    just a heads up SS ice buckets at poundland now hold the 10cm zebra billy..the handles on the ice bucket are held on with screws..buy 2 take off the 4 handles and you can make some legs for your hobo.. mine works a treat Peachy

    our king charles spaniel would be good i think..quiet dog,stays very close, would keep me warmer,does have some skills..not sure if he would be good in low temp though and i would feel a dick walking round with a coat on my dog..maybe not... i too have thought a dog would be a good companion...

    a handy ingredient in the tin is those small pouch/packets of dessicant that often come with electrical items..about a 1" size bag with small balls in that absorb moistore..i always keep em ;)
