What to use as tinder in different parts of Europe

Gorse works well, always loads of dry, dead stuff about. It's good practice to gather potential combustibles and try them out, fun too.

    Wanted Original Leatherman super tool.

Not the same animal, I know, but I have a Super Tool 300 up for grabs. Only used it once in 8 years and then it was only the pliers and a flat head. £60 If it's any good to you?

    What did you buy today?

Technically it's flat but the whole blade is only the height of a scandi grind so...Mine has a very slightly convex polished edge. Other grinds are available though.

It's exactly what I hoped it would be so I'm smitten. Can't tell it's in my pocket but it's got real density in hand, grippy too. I have a Folts Minimalist which is ok but the finger grooves dictate how you hold it, the Firefly is way better. gg, If you use a small fixed blade regularly I'll...

Hi Jeffrey. Hope you enjoy the forums. I think you're not too far from Marin County? That's on my to ride list for sure. Beautiful trails.

You are going on a 3 day trip and have to stay UK legal so what do you carry?

For most trips I carry my usual SAK, Leatherman, small fixed blade and saw combo, excepting city stays when I obviously ditch the small fixed blade and take a much larger tactical fixed blade.

    What did you buy today?

Coincidentally, just picked up one of his stacked horn eating knives at a flea market of all places. My son is a fan of his YouTube stuff and all things medieval so he'll appreciate it for our cookouts.

    What did you buy today?

Skrama 80. Bought one year's ago for my youngest but he prefers his Mora. That's practically a full sized knife though. Do you pocket carry it regularly?

    What did you buy today?

Teedee, that's exactly what I'm pondering, guess I'll have to give one a try. Nice65, really appreciate the feedback, especially the pic of it next to the Jaakaripuukko 140, puts it into perspective for me. Do you find it a useful size day to day? I like a small fixed blade in my pocket for...
