I'm hoping you guys can help...

I'm after a large kettle/urn that I can hang over an open fire for when I take groups out into the woods.

It need to hold enough water for hot drinks to cater for atleast 15 people.
Do you have any ideas where I may be able to get hold of one?

Cheers

Depends on the size of the mugs they are using as well, 15 people with a 1 pint mug is just short of two gallons, so something the size of a bucket will be needed, and weighing in at over 20lb in weight when full.

Have you thought about getting something like a milk churn and getting a tap fitted to it?

Or a stainless steel one.

Need to contact Admin...
I used to get mine from Oz. I just tried to find the link to Grangers Camping World, but it looks like they went pop a while back.

Give google a good bashing and you might find an alternative. The ones that I got for our courses had hinged handles, which folded over to lay flat against the kettle - making them a bit easier to pack in / pack out.

Cheers for the suggestions guys.

I wanted something with a spout that I can hang over an open fire, with enough capacity for about 15 cups/mugs.

Adapting a milk urn and fitting a spout on the end, is something I do not have the skills for.

Ideally a alrge tea pot, something similar to what was used by the scout in the past, or those used by the WI.

I've been searching evil bay, but nothing there.
Any more suggestions????

I didn't like the location of the spout of the copper kettle.

Trekkingnut: Thanks for that, that more like it, but £45 is a bit steep. Capacity is good. I am seriously tempted...but not convinced

Thanks all that have made suggestions, please please keep them coming

Cheers

Give Woodlore a phone, they have a big one they put over the fire on the courses. Maybe able to tell you where they got it?
