Montrose Basin Geese

    Thinking about going up to watch the large amounts of geese in the Montrose basin area, but never been before, can anyone give me pointers where to w camp here ?

    Not too sure, is it only the one night? Can give you a contact at Montrose basin, she works there. Leysmill Scout hall isn't too far away. Sure they would be able to help.

    Is there any population management to mitigate the agricultural damage that geese do?
    The Snow Goose has become an enemy here. 50/day bag limits, things like that.

    The Montrose basin allows some shooting and some folks around here have been known to develop goose fever!!!

    Most farms where they destroy crops will have someone willing to shoot them. There's also let shooting too.

    There's a huge migration and then one day a great big load of them will take off for sunny England and further down south.
