Thank you to all who responded to my query.

We had a good look at all the suggestions either on-line or in the shop. Some were ruled out on grounds of cost although suitable otherwise. For example, she liked the Rohans in their Oxford shop but could not justify spending around £100. Then a stoke of luck. As we past the Mountain Warehouse shop where we had drawn a blank earlier in the week, I suggested a quick look in case they had new stock and she was amazed to find a pair of their own brand in the right size and marked down to £29. She took the view that although a third of the price of the Rohans they were far from a third as good.

So, a good result saving nearly £70 and reinforcing my view that an annual subscription to BushcraftUK actually saves money. Thank you Tony!

:D Good to hear Mrs OT got a good bargain :)

They're not expensive are Mountain Warehouse, but their clothing seems to last surprisingly well. I have two of their cagoules and they're very good :)

I’ve an old ad here for a pair of 5.11 Taclite Pros. They never did sell, so if you would like them for PP and postage costs, they’re yours. Well, your good lady’s :)

She was really touched by your kind offer, but is now OK for trousers since her recent purchases. Her biggest problem is the need to try clothes on as quoted sizes never seem to fit.

She feels there is likely to be a more deserving cause than herself, such as a youngster in reduced circumstances who could do with some kit to start them off on the outdoor life. She worries a lot about modern day kids who sit at home on social media and need encouragement to get out more.

Come spring, you may well get takers for your offer and she wishes you good luck and hopes this post may serves as a bump!
