I camped in Langdale once when I was younger only to wake up with water lapping the sides of my tent.
The gill bordering the camp site had burst it's banks in the night and many people's tents and equipment were floating but not in good shape.
Due to good old fashioned common sense I was on one of the higher bits of ground and the sewn in groundsheet bucket saved my sleeping kit from getting soaked.
Maybe that would be a good use for it, with a good anchor of course.
