Wondering Wizard, UK
friends of my parents son bread wild boar for meat, but some animal rights actavists took the work "wild" to heart and broke down the fence, and then chased them out of the pen, they might have even transported some of them as they keep finding them mile and miles away from where they were kept, further than they could go in a night. fortunatly or unfortunatly (depending on ur opinion) most were shot, but some r still living wild, there have been sightings of litters of piglets too! the guy whos they were has now stopped breeding them as its wrecked his lifeand if he trys again they'll prob end up free again and he'll loose even more money.

just to add my little bit to the forum!!

Tenderfoot
I've toyed with the idea (tongue in cheek but with some remote intention) in farming these in the woodland! Out of the camping areas of course but if somebody wanted a wild night they could hop over the double security fence (required under the Dangerous Animals Act) and hang their hammock! A point at which I would like to relate a short story about a friend of a friend of mine in the Forest of Dean who woke in the middle of the night to some grunting and squealing (steady on!) to wonder exactly how high he had hung that hammock...a few moments later, the beast came out from under the bushes and just passed under the hammock!
