    WANTED field jacket

I'm looking for a field jacket. A smock or M65 pattern if you have one? In a medium. No camouflage though please, it's not my thing. Can trade. Let me know if you're looking for something yourself.[emoji1690]

Recommendation for good Tent for Garden Bushcraft?

I was gonna say a surplus 9x9ft canvas tent, but it appears you've already tried that and you're not keen....

How do warm blooded people cope

I had two jackets. One synthetic, one down. The synthetic one I wrapped round my legs. I zipped it up and had my feet in the hood. The down jacket was draped over me like a blanket. Worked well.

How do warm blooded people cope

Back to the OPs question about how to stay warm.... On Friday night I made a last minute decision to go fishing with a mate. Soon as I got home I threw a load of gear in the car and hot footed to a prearranged campsite (a C&C one, right by the canal). Upon arrival I realised I had forgotten my...

How do warm blooded people cope

Here's some bro-science, that works for me...... Eat a meal that's higher in fat a few hours before bed. Infact, have a higher in animal fat diet as a general rule. Settles your metabolism and this relates to being able to regulate your body temperature. Living in a house/apartment that is...

    Home first aid kit

Answers FWIW.... 1) - anything that stops a massive loss of blood is good at the time! But I recommend H&H Compression Bandage. They pack nice and small and can opened and used one-handed (proven through real life observational experience!). You can carry two on your person with ease. 2) -...

    Still lots of Covid about?

Just to bring us all back round to being light hearted....

    Still lots of Covid about?

Indeed, not quite as binary. I know people who partake in endurance events such as ultramarathons, road cycling, rugby players, who also neck 10 pints or more a week and soldiers who smoke or vape like chimneys..... underlying health issues can be unknown or historical I'm sure.

    Still lots of Covid about?

That's what I've always thought about it as well. My wife and I have always been physically active, and our diet (and consequently our childrens) is about 80% wholefood. None of us have had covid (that we know of, of course. We have randomly tested just for interest sake, or going on/returning...

    Still lots of Covid about?

Just a thought...... I do wander how much of an effect a person's existing physical condition has on their immune systems ability to ward off covid?

    Still lots of Covid about?

Covid? What's that? Seems noones really interested in it anymore...... As @TeeDee said, since its down regulation noones keeping 2m apart, no masks, no hand cleaning, public gatherings are totally OK now. So I suppose covid is still out there... Tbh, although I had the vaccs, throughout the...

    Crib Goch on Snowdon

@Limaed great advice! Some years ago, I and a good friend decided on a spur-of-the-moment night time ascent to Snowdon via Crib Goch. We are both very experienced in that environment, both being WML with big log books. Seemed a nice challenge but do-able. We planned to camp somewhere just off...

    water bottles and water

I'll use the nalgene bottle to carry water. Once empty and I'm in camp, the nalgne becomes my toilet in the night. I won't use it for water again until its washed out...... Unless I'm with Bear Grylls. Because then I'll drink my own pee from the rattlesnake skin which I carry for that specific...

    water bottles and water

Bushcraft activites: 2 x NATO 1ltr. With a 3ltr camelbak bladder in reserve for when I'm in camp. I choose this set up because I'm generally static and I'll drink a lot brews throughout the day. I'm relaxing. Hill walking/wild camping: 1 x 500ml Smart water bottle filled with Electrolyte drink...
