John it was such a pleasure to see you again and Connor was absolutely blown away. He's really pleased with his firesteel. I was lucky enough to camp near to you again so many great conversations were had. See you at the next moot
Email hit my inbox last night. Ticket immediately purchased! I haven't been around much for a while. I missed Summer Moot recovering from cancer surgery but I'm fully recovered and all clear so I'm not missing any more moots!
Hi all, haven't been around for a while. Obviously everything is based on a play it by ear basis right now. but as there isn't a specific core days ticket I guess I can just buy some days and use them for whichever days I can make it?
I'm waiting to order right now because I'm having an op on...
Well a very good last episode. Glad to see our Theresa was well featured. She also answered the oldest pottery question too. I enjoyed it, I think that it's something that would be really interesting archaeologically as a more long term project but that doesn't make good tv. I think they got the...
Yeah I wasn't suggesting that there are older pottery that could fit that era. I'm just saying that archaeology can only say we haven't found it and on the balance of probabilities it doesn't exist. Theresa did make a birch bark container which could carry water
They've mentioned 50,000 years ago a few times. This isn't supposed to be the farmers who migrated around 8,000 years ago, it's meant to be the much earlier hunter gatherers.
It's hard to say with regards to pottery. Archaeology can only prove what is in the ground. The old saying absence of...
Tony I think it was entirely expected once the English lockdown was announced. I just don't see anything like this being possible until things are under control. When we finally do get to have a moot it will be all the more special
I mean that's the reality of it isn't it. The majority of it will be tedious and because they've got actual experts in their field rather than attention seeking z list celebs or members of the public who want to make a name for themselves there won't be the usual drama. The team work and respect...
I'm hoping that the Welsh government remove travel restrictions in time for this but I have a nasty feeling England will be in lockdown from January to March. Fingers crossed it's not the case
I enjoyed the show thoroughly but as Broch said, I'm reserving judgement to a certain degree. I'm giving the participants the benefit of the doubt for now because I believe that issues on the show may relate to interference from the production crew. Having heard the nonsense the Dual Survival...
Thanks for the clarity. I think it was inevitable, let's face it running courses with a 2 meter distancing is one thing but in the naughty corner after the kraken's gone round it's next to impossible. I think the obstacles that would have to be surmounted to achieve this would've been too much...
I think you're right. Social distancing will continue for some time. I think they'll loosen restrictions on a per area basis as the vaccine is applied so I'd call Bushmoot a write-off for this year
