how to SLEEP in a hammock?!

I'm with you on this and was wondering if one of the "Lay Flat" designs might work. I don't know if anyone here has used one? I have bought a NightCat Lay Flat, but have yet to try it as a hammock. Works well as a bivvy on the ground though.......

They must be really scraping the barrel now......sad.

    Snugpak Ionosphere

An excellent bit of kit for its purpose....and that is NOT sitting upright therein in storms. It is a "bivvy tent"......... compact, very waterproof, very wind resistant, well ventilated. Very discrete when required. Good for tall people too!

I have the 15, Xtra long and expanda panel. Lovely bags if a little? bulky and heavy :)

    Chest Packs - Helikon-Tex Numbat

There are many You Tube reviews online, so I won't reiterate it all here: the thing seems well made and robust. Early days, but also seems comfortable and easy to use with a rucksack. There is a removeable section which includes a small map pocket, and most people apparently do remove this: I...

Potential ban to wild camping on Dartmoor.

You are allowed to shoot them when on your property, :) On the motorbike they are a gamechanger.........but I'm going off topic, sorry......

Potential ban to wild camping on Dartmoor.

At last, someone gets the reason for my posting: its not whether x million pheasants are an economic crop or whatever (I have managed farms/livestock for years) it's the hypocracy of an argument stopping an activity pertaining to damage an environment and then blatantly doing the same thing. As...

    Sleeping bag for big guy

I have the brilliant Dutch bag above....superb design.....I think the liner "poppers" in...well it does on mine. Excellent bag but you don't want to carry it. If you are tall, you may wish to consider Snugpak......some of their bags ( Softie 15 in my case) they do in longer lengths, and also...

    DARTMOOR- no more wild camping?

13/1/23........have I heard correctly on the news: that a court has overturned the limited right to wild camp in areas of Dartmoor, contrary to the bye laws that were in place?

    Army Thermal tops

Just bought one of these for £15....seems a good thing, perhaps more as a mid layer than base, or sleep top........

    SNUGPAK Softie 15 Sleeping Bag

S' funny........you don't hear or see a lot about this bag, and not a lot about viable serious winter alternatives to down bags? Allbeit heavier and bulkier than a down equivalent, I for one really like it, especially as it can be customized to suit? (length/width, etc..)

    Favourite kit of the year.

The Ionosphere......stealthy, very weathproof, light and small to pack, loads of room for 6'4" me and a pack............
