I'm with you on this and was wondering if one of the "Lay Flat" designs might work. I don't know if anyone here has used one? I have bought a NightCat Lay Flat, but have yet to try it as a hammock. Works well as a bivvy on the ground though.......

An excellent bit of kit for its purpose....and that is NOT sitting upright therein in storms. It is a "bivvy tent"......... compact, very waterproof, very wind resistant, well ventilated. Very discrete when required. Good for tall people too!

I have the brilliant Dutch bag above....superb design.....I think the liner "poppers" in...well it does on mine. Excellent bag but you don't want to carry it. If you are tall, you may wish to consider Snugpak......some of their bags ( Softie 15 in my case) they do in longer lengths, and also...

S' funny........you don't hear or see a lot about this bag, and not a lot about viable serious winter alternatives to down bags? Allbeit heavier and bulkier than a down equivalent, I for one really like it, especially as it can be customized to suit? (length/width, etc..)
