Leatherman Surge - or maybe Wave

Looks like the surge is getting a lot of support, the wave is a great tool not quite as robust as the surge but for me it covers my needs. Claus Olson currently are selling the new wave at £69 which is a good £10 cheaper than any one else I could

Looking for a decent Welly type boot

I would avoid the muck boots, have had two pairs and both have split at the heel. I think it is down to having large calfs! In winter I will use them most days so I guess it depends on your usage. I will be trying out some seeland estate willies next!

    Air gun licencing, part deux

The VCR bill brought in tighter rulings on the sale of air guns, is there anything out there that shows the impact of this legislation?

    Expedition Hardware, negative experience

I have purchased from these guys, same experience, it took persistence to actually get through to someone when I had an issue with faulty kit. Then the replacement took a long time to sort out. I had to basically phone the guy every day at differing times. I did eventually get my replacement bit...

you too can learn to be BG

I'm sure they won't laugh at you, especially when they see you in your "cool" craghopers survival gear using your very orange survival tools.......

you too can learn to be BG

It is a lot for the course, having said all that there is a market for it as it ran! Believe he had some highly skilled instructors on the course, anyone who has had the pleasure of spending some time being taught by Stani (also teaches on the bushcraft expeditions courses) will verify this. You...

    Washing in the wild

I have used these for lotions and potions for a while. Big enough to last a couple weeks but small enough to not take up lots of room, they also seem to resist the bursting effect of moving your kit arround when travelling http://www.lakeland.co.uk/23080/GoToob-Small-Travel-Bottle

    Washing in the wild

For pans I have used horse's tail (the plant) with ash in pans before which has worked well

    Washing in the wild

I have a webtex collapsable bowl, a small travel towel (size of a hand towel) bio soap, tea tree oil and a medicated talc. For just a few days I take tea tree cleansing wipes. With this lot I find I can clean myself and fend of the joys of scrot rot, fungal foot infections etc. When first...

    Good day sack?

Another recommendation for the osprey kit! I think there are now 6 of their packs (including a kid carrier) in the house for the wife, baby and I. Very good quality, extremely comfortable and great load carrying capacity. I have tried a lot of the traditional bushcraft/ex military packs but have...

Frasers BCUK Bushmoot after party - Some pictures

Implying nothing, other than it made me chuckle after reading a recent post, thought it subtle 2 fingers. No offence intended, thought it was a clever photo but then I may have over thought it. Looks like you had a great few days, have had a couple of opportunities to learn from Frazer so very...

Any RAS sufferers out there? (Refex anoxic seizures)

Leon Give the charity a call, I would also push for a follow up with a syncope specialist who will be able to advise you a lot better than I can. The charity will be open now if you need some immediate advice, have a look at their blackouts checklist and see if all bases were covered in your...

Any RAS sufferers out there? (Refex anoxic seizures)

Dwardo I spent 5 years working on diagnostics to find the underlying cause of these seizures, I would recommend getting in touch with the stars charity http://www.stars.org.uk/ Info on the charity http://www.patient.co.uk/support/STARS-Syncope-Trust-and-Reflex-Anoxic-Seizures.htm They are...
