    cairngorms

The facilities are amazing by campsite standards. We were off to the edge in a secluded, wooded area complete with beck.

Could never get into Steven King… Love the Gruffalo though. I'd say it's genuinely one of my favourites…!

    Favourite Books

Morning all, Whilst I'm new here, I'd like to start a non-bushcraft oriented (for the most part) book thread. Akin to a 'book-club' if you like. I'd be interested to find out your favourite books in various genres and possible recommendations… For instance, mine: All time favourite: The...

    Navigation books?

Clearly you think a compass is required... Why not just use it? You're going to learn far more by doing than you are by reading. It seems that this book has distressed you quite considerably so I would really advise sending it back or selling it...

    Hiking Hadrians Wall - May

I've done it with a couple of friends. We went West -> East. The only problem with that was when we came to the end and one of the others turned around and said: "We've walked all this time for a f***ing Lidl?". If I did it again I think I'd have to go East -> West. Get the ugly bit out of the...

    A walk in the woods

Hey Woods, Thanks for the pictures and vid :) Sorry to hear about Fred, Zip looked lovely though. Think the weather would have been a little too bracing for me (at least at my current skill level).

My book has arrived today - I'm very impressed with the content and how accessible it is.

    Building a Pizza Oven

Probably not quite the level you're looking for but the Scout Group that I'm involved with takes a half oil barrel on camp with us and turns it upside down with a hatch cut out of the front. It's sat on bricks and we cook pizzas/scones just on those. It could be a really low-cost solution for...

Plant & Tree ID Masterclass with Paul Kirtley

Looks good but I'm skint at the moment... I'll be considering it in 2015!

Man of Tanith And Albus Cutler's skills resolution

Not going to lie, guys, this upsets me! :) This was my Macmillan costume for work and I didn't quite feel like shelling out on another. Yes, I'm going to a fancy dress... but I'd rather eat glass...! Was hoping the day walking would keep me away from it!

Man of Tanith And Albus Cutler's skills resolution

Just ordered the book and hoping to keep up with you guys.* *Typed dressed as Peter Pan after a day out walking on the beer and whisky after girlfriend has just hairsprayed the ladders on my tights. Feeling cold (in parts), drunk and easily led.

First ever trip out + further visits (pic heavy)

Looks good to me - I'm going to be following your experiences with interest; I'm fairly new to the bushcraft world but spend a fair amount of time camping. Being on this 'site though has caused me to appreciate that what I do at the moment is more akin to glamping... Super story
