Once upon a time, in the middle of nowhere... (Pic heavy!)

No mares coming to our place, the closest one is a mile away and hopefully stays there. He takes a car ride and goes to see the girls, not the other way round. Yeah, boys need friends too. Being a vet and previously a horse handler, the other half knows what it's like. Used to work at few studs.

Thought about you the other day, went and bought a 2 yr old baby stallion, keeps company to the old lad, he's 15. A friend,s mare is foaling from him this summer, if it's a boy it will come and live with his daddy at our place after weaning. The "first kiss" 5min after coming home with the new guy

Old Wellies and what to do with them.

Chicken feeders, but useful only if you have chicken. Cut a piece of the top side of foot, hang to a wall, fill with fodder.

Open fires in Scotland not allowed ?

Making the bog burn might make you famous, but I doubt you want to be known the tw*t who made it burn for years. So far have not needed more than the ikea hobo to cook and athmosphere in the woods. Then again, in my life a fire is an everyday thing. Just the fireplace kinds at home and...

Moving back to the US, goodbye my little village.

My apologies for not sounding like a cottonball of no use. Having had a drug addict in the family, the cheesy sobbing factor is low in the system. The pampering does rarely any good.

Moving back to the US, goodbye my little village.

Wouldn't it be easiest and cheaper to fly the drunk to UK then stick him into the woods with no booze in sight? Sure what we don't do for loved ones, but why is it the decent ones that have to uproot their lives? Or send the wife to US to spend a few months with the lovely drunk, see if it's...

Your views on where your gear is made.

I'm currently using a Bacho staped cheap puukko that had a sticker on the sheat saying Morakniv and made in China.

Your views on where your gear is made.

Own loads of Fjällräven clothes and pretty sure it says -made in china- in every tag.

    Bohemian hello...

Then again, what is the defenition of bushcraft and where is the line drawn. As long as you breathe fresh air and enjoy yourself in the woods, is it not enough. Wellcomes from a snowstorm in Finland!

Once upon a time, in the middle of nowhere... (Pic heavy!)

That's an excellent advice :lmao: Yeah, at times it has been very handy especially now that all small animal emergencies are centered over 100km away and these things rarely go ouch between 8-16... I think there is a population around 20 000 of the finsk kallblod, so not quite extinct, but not...

Once upon a time, in the middle of nowhere... (Pic heavy!)

Gone though dozen of those, even grinding away the taper in the opening, but if studs are worn, it's hopeless. 10mm wrench with 30cm tail welded on it has been the best so far. Horses are finnhorses and the pups are unwanted labs, need to find a home for the boy. Older dogs are mixes, one a...

Once upon a time, in the middle of nowhere... (Pic heavy!)

Oh yes, shoes, or even better, replacing worn studs on those shoes and with only a cold stable and a headlamp... Still waiting for the development of a working tool for that. But to make life easy we just got 2 puppies today, 7week old... So more mess the merrier.

Once upon a time, in the middle of nowhere... (Pic heavy!)

I know what I'm talking about, at the moment I worry about 2 houses and a summer cottage... Not to mention horses, dogs, family etc. A long wait till it's just leisure and relaxing. With your line of business, it will never end.

    Brew with the dogs

The dogs were asking for a run and as it was a nice warm (+3C), sunny day I figured I'll combine a brew and gather some pine/spruce sap on the way. Sap is easy enough to find, atleast in small amounts in just about any woods where I usually go, but this time I landed a stream. Thought I...

I would say that Janne is your guy, I can some, but might miss some.
