    Jetboil Zip

I'm selling my Jetboil Zip due to the recent acquisition of a Caldera Cone setup. I got it last year and have used it on 6 trips, just to boil water. No food has graced its pot. Condition is very good, just with a few minor scratches to the cup and feint marks inside the pot from stacking the...

    BackpackingLight Pocket Stove Ti

After recently acquiring a Caldera Cone I'm looking to move on my BackpackingLight.co.uk Pocket Stove Ti. This is, of course, the titanium model and is a staggering 56g in weight and has very little bulk at all. I've used it for about a year mainly with a trangia burner, but also with wood and...

Kit thats come and gone ...

You're probably right Shewie. A thread listing old stuff doesn't sound all that interesting to me, where a discussion does. Perhaps its just me though.

Kit thats come and gone ...

Fair points, but why do certain items come and go? Simply fashion?

Kit thats come and gone ...

Better is relative. I'm just saying that progress is evident and people who move on tend to have a better time of it by and large.

    Show us your bimble bag

Mine's quite simple, but my short walks usually involve heading up a hill and back down again so I try and avoid carrying loads of weight. OMM Waist Pouch Berghaus Velum Nalgene 1L Sawyer Squeeze FAK Leatherman Style CS Thrunite T10 on Fenix strap Silva 54 compass Mobile phone Clif bar +...

Kit thats come and gone ...

I couldn't agree with you more on the Sawyer front. There's a weird air of sacredness around some items on here and people seem to jump to defend them like angry rottweilers. Just because something has been tried and tested for 50+ years doesn't mean that it is the absolute pinnacle of the...

    What did you buy today?

Let us know how you get on with the jacket. I've been eyeing one up, as well as the OMM Kamleika.

    Dilemma, lol

Have you considered a BPL Pocket Stove? Not so hot as a wood burner but does an admirable job with a trangia burner or esbit tabs.

    Weekend's gear testing - Thoughts

On the sit mat front I prefer the Multimat foam one. Cheap and light but not particularly massive. I tend to stick it down behind my water bladder, flat against my back. I carry a sheet of tyvek-type stuff too to keep my pack dry if the ground is wet. I agree with copper_head on the pop bottle...
