Just an elaboration, i need to clean the drill and cutting bits in between jobs, and the swarf is 'swirled' around the bits, so i need to twist it with thumb and finger to remove. the actual metal i clean with a file and its done. Im going to pick up a pair of heavy duty mechanics gloves...

Im using barrier cream, and there are latex and marrigolds readily available. I find the rubber gloves cut and tear after a short period due to sharp end and constantly cleaning the cutting bits, so was lookind for a more durable alternative

only because i already own it i use a snap on multitool. failing that i like the look of the gerber diesel and the charge

Bugger, i was hoping that they would be readily available, but with my luck nothing is easy. i want one, but id rehandle it for peace of mind. if you are lucky making yor own could you drop me a pm and ill pay you to comission me a set, ill be happy to get the knife then knowing i can rehandle it.

Thanks all.. is there anybody else involved with this type of work? im in need of a decent pair of gloves, my hands are constantly wet with the cutting compound/coolant, and the swarf is cutting my poor fingers. does anybody know if mechanic type gloves will be ok? Not looking forward to...

instead of a 6week static camping trip why dont you try and travel? im still looking at doing it in the summer for a month or two and am really looking forward to it. That way your camping out, but can still visit any attractions to keep your party amused?
