Reasons for carrying a knife (in the UK).......

Well, You've made it quite clear that you dont like me or my opinions, fair enough each to their own. As a moderator perhaps you could explain to me what Ive posted that was 'wrong'. Was I rude or nasty to someone? Was it just my lack of 'any kind of solution' ? I think that many of the...

Reasons for carrying a knife (in the UK).......

The average citizen of this green and pleasant land really doesnt care what you use your knives for, or whether you have a legal right to pursue your hobby. When some sound bite hero of a politician ( who probably doesnt know which way is up) tells them that they will be safer when the carrying...

Reasons for carrying a knife (in the UK).......

I understand where you are coming from but the target pistol shooting fraternity probably said something similar.

Reasons for carrying a knife (in the UK).......

Im sorry - im not trying to badger anyone. I was simply reacting to what I thought was unreasonable. I wont post in this thread again. Just so Im clear, if I post an opinion that is generally disagreed with then thats a rant? In my defence, look up totalitarianism in the dictionary, do a...

Reasons for carrying a knife (in the UK).......

I didnt realise that some opinions are more important than others here. I was simply agreeing with what someone else had already said. I have lived and worked in many different countries on 4 continents. I have yet to find a country that has more draconian laws governing the outdoors and...

Reasons for carrying a knife (in the UK).......

Could you read that back to yourself a few times and tell me if you really believe that? We do indeed live in a police state or at least a totalitarian one. No mater what I want to do with my spare time I have to consider whether its legal or not and whether or not I need to ask someones...

    Resin Glue.

First off, I should say that Ive never tried to make glue but my understanding is that the charcoal tempers the glue i.e. makes it less brittle so if you dont use charcoal the glue will dry hard like glass - and break just as easily. Im sure someone will come along soon and correct me but...

Just how does it affect you?

Perhaps some one could draw the govts attention to the following, I can just imagine the next set of 'amnesties' http://www.ydr.com/newsfull/ci_3824754 http://politics.guardian.co.uk/homeaffairs/story/0,,1779433,00.html

    Knife Kits

Funnily enough (it wasnt really!) I broke my left arm 3 weeks ago and Ive just finished putting the handle on this knife http://www.bushcraftuk.com/community/showthread.php?t=12813 First off, I should say I didnt find it easy, I had to rig up loads of different ways to hold the knife and it...

    Latest Knife and Sheath

This is my latest effort, sort of a mini version of the last one that I did. The blade is 3mm 01. The scales are cherry. It was such a pleasure to work with the Cherry after that toxic Bocote ( as much as I like it to look at ;) ) Blade is 3" , overall length 6" Not exactly...

    Folding Knives

I too can see a certain logic but if the argument is taken to its logical conclusion where will they draw the line? They cant legislate against the 'desire to stab' and given that an 'HB' pencil could be lethal ...... Whats next? Ok Ok, i know im preaching to the converted here but I cant...

    Folding Knives

I try to laugh but sometimes I really do despair. This isnt the place for politics so ill not rant but would you believe the police in Scotland recently suggested a 'waiting period' before you could buy a kitchen knife :tapedshut This quote sort of sums it up: When all the dangerous cliffs...

    New Sheath for Newish Knife

I got the following from Leprevo :edge beveller, stitch groover (adjustable), overstitch wheel (5mm) and a skiver . I guess you could do without the skiver, I used it for the welt which I made quite thick at the top and then thinner further down. I also got some thread and some oil dye. Hope...
