    Monty Alford's Yu-Can Stove

I really like the idea of having a water(snow) pot on top so you could put your mug with water on that or cook on that/boil water in the inner. I have an alcohol stove idea which would work great with this I think.

    Bushcraft show 2024 ..what tent?

Go to GoOutdoors and have a wonder round with her and find out what size of tent she wants. If you going to do some car camping a tent you can stand up in, a porch and no sewn in groundsheet are really useful points.

    Homemade canoes?

Gary Dierking Wa'apa has always stuck me as a really interesting idea. Also have a look at the Nessmuk canoes because no one is really making canoes like that any more. Check out song of the paddle forum as there a lot of good books out there being recommended.

My hiking bottles are 850ml smart water bottles. I tend to carry 4. If going over night I add a 3l platypus to that. Primitive Tech Tree

I have said about this before what skills do you need to advance? To give an example, to make cord you need to be able to: Identify certain plants How to prepare them How to twist fibres You have to wonder were things like distaffs and spindles fit in as a next step and then you have rope...

Bushcraft tools that could be classed as weapons?

Never take a caution because you cannot get it removed from your record and people have taken them for legal SAKs. A weapon is what they say it is in law however an offensive weapon can be anything as people have found to their cost. Under UK law you cannot carry anything for protection because...

    Ripstop Nylon

My experience with Ripstop is the material is mostly bomb proof however the seams are an issue and worth over doing. It has a massive advantage over standard nylon in that it stops those annoyingly easy rips.

    Survival Rations Inspired by History

I do wonder were things like Anzac biscuits and oat cakes sit? Also what using honey does to those things instead of the syrups?

    Best Bushcraft books

Check out the dump as there loads of scout books on there including some of the pamphlets which are a really interesting read. I really want a copy of the BSA Scout fire and cooking book that Blackie Thomas keeps talking about. I was listening to Mor's on Paul Kirtley's podcast talking about...

Check out the Identity store as they have smaller pieces of leather for sale. A4 and A3. Unless you planning on going into business think the only big tool people tend to end up with is a hand press. I cannot remember which member made them however would love a tutorial on the those really nice...

    Yew Wood Chippings

Yew berries are proof that the saying about watching what birds eat and then eating that is safe is rubbish as they can eat Yew berries as they do not digest the seed.
