Anyone used this tweed jacket, seems very cheap compared to other brands.

About the norm for them if you trawl about country shows. Nothing wrong with them, I've got one. They do weigh heavy when wet though. HTH Harry.

Heating and cooking with firewood - a visual illustration

OK, I know it's only pine they're splitting. Not sure how it'd cope with a knarly old lump of Oak. Is it me, but I find this slightly hypnotic :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded& v=KdXzaGFkWfU#!

    100wildhuts

Stumbled across this blog http://100wildhuts.blogspot.co.uk/ Some lovely designs for permanent shelters...But some take monumental hours, people & effort to construct. Loving the insulated walls http://www.alastairhumphreys.com/wild-hut-microadventure/...

    Pub rock

Big fan of Strummerville. Spent plenty of time at the Strummerville area during Glasto. Nice big fire to sit around & not a Coldplay/Keane fan to be seen :)

    My new shrafting budy

Nice pup... Good choice... But I am biased ;) Got working Cockers myself, always was a Springer man but one day I decided to try one as I'd had some good ones working in my line (had some bad ones too!). The youngest is 2 later this year, did some working tests & will be trialling her later this...

Scat/Poo ID and Killed Bird ID Help

She used to fly at 232 grms (8 1/4+ozs). Not big for a female. Captive bred, as all the birds I've flown were.

Scat/Poo ID and Killed Bird ID Help

This is a female I used to fly. You can see the barring on her feathers. We had a good flight on a Magpie that day...To the the victor, the spoils :) Pound for pound they are the pyschos of the bird world. She'd take out feral cock pigeons 4 times her own body weight, granted I'd make in to help...

Scat/Poo ID and Killed Bird ID Help

As there's nothing to scale the feather against I went with my gut feeling of a Spar.

Scat/Poo ID and Killed Bird ID Help

Brown feathers with horizontal barring look like a female Sparrowhawk's feathers. Shame but it has been a tough winter.

Wild Stove’s Wood gas stove MK II

Got out for a bit with the dogs yesterday afternoon. Only boiled enough for a brew. Have to say it was very fuel efficient, minimal ash residue. I'll have to experiment with types of fuel & burn times. Light, easy to use & cheap to buy from China.
