    Bivvy bag

I've used my goretex issue bag out and about plenty, never had a problem with it even it heavy rain and even snow. My partner had a breathtex issue bag, which leaked like a goodun' and he only used once. He now swears by his Rab Storm bivvy, which I have to admit I wouldn't mind one of myself :)

Really enjoyed the weekend, so very nice to get out, take a deep breath and let the last few months in a city evaporate from my system :) Good to see you all again, and meet the newbies, thanks to Ashley, Justin and Martin for setting it all up. I WILL be finding myself some decent sycamore and...

    What are you wearing..

Normally DPM combats (because they didn't have any olive in my size at the surplus store I went to), which have taken a battering and are still going strong. Walking socks and walking boots Dependent on how cold it is as to what I have on top, normally any of my normal (non-violent coloured)...

New to the forum from Cornwall

Hi there, you really have chosen the best group of guys to live near :) I'm missing being down the Devon/Cornwall way myself, you are going to have a ball! Try to make some of the Cornish contingent (and devon invaders) meets, you will really enjoy them I'm sure :) I'm just hoping there is such...

    Hammocking skills and kit.

I always take my headtorch in, hang it from the utility line for middle of the night emergencies! I also have a small drybag hanging with a rubbishy little krab from one end of the utility line, usually containing a spare pair of socks and an extra torso layer incase I get cold. Too many times...

    Alone in the Wild

I must say, having watched the three episodes, that I actually felt sorry for the guy. I think he went into it with a lot of false expectations, and despite having some grounding as a kid, and probably a fair bit of teaching before commencement, he just wasn't prepared for what he would go...

    NaturalBushcraft Meet - Oct 2009

I'm desperate to make this one, miss you guys! I'm up in welsh wales now so it may be a bit of a mission, but if I do make it, I should potentially be bringing two others. Steve may not make it, depends if he's taking a Trueways course or not :(

    Snowdonia camping recommendation?

Having been up to Snowdonia a few weeks ago, I (jealously!) noted a few campers in Capel Curig, camped on the edges of fields etc, with car/bike parking next to Tryfan (EXCELLENT scramble for reference :) ), and close enough to Betws-y-coed for any supplies.

New to Wales, need some bushcafting buddies!

Hi guys! Having spent the last 24 years down in Devon, and bushcrafting with the Cornwall and Devon Contingent, I've just found myself at Uni in Cardiff! I'm in a house full of barbie dolls and DESPERATE to meet up with some bushcrafters in the area soon, before I lose my mind! I was...

Hello! I'm new, and I need some advice on fishing rods :-)

I've also recently started beach-casting, I got myself this rod; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250437297478 I splashed out on a second hand Abu Garcia 6500 Blue Elite Multiplier, and it's all good. If you can, get someone experienced to set up...

    wanting to try a hammock

I've got a 3x3m DD, and I've never had a single problem with it. Packs down pretty darn small, very versatile, light but still hardwearing (used it as a groundsheet a couple of times and had no snags or rips luckily!), good workmanship involved in the loops etc... I'm not suprised they've...
