I have recently been making quite a few carving blades and spoon knives; we went camping Friday night so I took the opportunity to actually have a go at carving a spoon. Made from Green Hazel, I split a branch roughly in half with an axe then carved the rest with a knife, it was a little long winfed but there was no hurry, finish is straight from the knife, no sanding and finished with olive oil.

I am pleased with this; came out the shape I wanted. I like the facets and the blades worked well.

A rather washed out picture of the knives I used, someone else was using my dedicated carver so I used the only other knife I had with me.

Thanks for the comments, I like the shape- I have collected spoons for a few years and this is a slightly scaled down copy of my favourite makers style.
