The ramsons are in flower down this neck of the woods and, knowing how delicious they are, I picked, chopped and put some into my dry bannock mix before adding the water and cooking it. The result was absolutely delicious: kind of garlic bread without the oceans of melted butter.

I'm sure the old hands out there will already know about this and will have tried it but I thought I'd slot in this post to inform the uninitiated or those who might want to try a free flavouring! :)

Ramsons are lovely. We keep a few in the garden so we can use them when we like.
They are great in soups and stews, bastes, with meat in ground ovens, in yogart for kebabbs in everythin really :):)

I have just made and frozen a lake of Nettle and Ransom soup containing both the leaf and flower bud of the Ransom....Mmmmmm!
I like to nibble the flower buds as I go on walks and have eaten a fair few this year!
Has anyone else noticed an apitite suppressant effect when you eat Ransoms? - Greg and I have both felt less peckish after snacking on a few buds recently
