    Dealing with Boils

I had a boil nightmare in December 2018 and I'm still living with the consequences now. It wasn't a particularly aggressive one but the GP saw fit to try me on a new antibiotic that has had some success on "aggressive boils"; Co-amoxiclav. Within 10 days I had liver failure and ended up on a...

    Recipes for birds

I make use of orange juice cartons as a mold for my fat blocks. I cut off the top bit then fill with a mix of nuts, seeds and fishermans groundbait all mixed in with the melted fat. When it sets I peel off the carton and there's a big block ready for the birds. I find that around now nesting...

    Lamb stew type recipes?

It's like a different language all this talk of recipes and prep. My mother could burn a salad and now when my wife calls our daughter down for dinner she phones child-line. Oh for a chance to sample some of the stuff mentioned here.

    OEX Leviathan Sleeping Bag

Just spent two night in the lakes, one of which was -4 according to the sensor on the car (last night). No liner, just a tee shirt and merino base layer, toasty. Delighted with it's performance.

    OEX Leviathan Sleeping Bag

I collected mine today, at first glance it all seems well made. I can't believe how it's lofted so much since taking out of the sack. It's enormous.

    OEX Leviathan Sleeping Bag

I have read several reviews on this sleeping bag and all seem fairly positive. To be used only during the winter months for wild camping in the UK, are there any users on here that can confirm the suitability of the product? Currently on sale at £139 it seems a good price for a down bag.

    No time like the present

Yes, being able to slip into my secondary kit was indeed a wonderful feeling. Here's two pictures that reflect the ups and downs with the weather and both shot within 20 minutes of each other. https://postimg.cc/WhMRZRLP https://postimg.cc/LJTryz8C

    No time like the present

Just returned from a trip to the lakes, spent three nights alone in Patterdale at Side Farm campsite and can sum it up in two words. Wash out! In my excitement to try wild camping I didn't factor in the weather as I should have but the craving was too great to resist. I did a recce up to Angle...
