Wood stove chimney-mounted water boiler - insights?

The one that I had didn't last very long before the tap on it snapped off.... I also found if the stove is running hot the water gets boiled off very quickly indeed. Nice at first, but I soon got fed up with it and when the tap broke, i didn't buy a replacement.

    Pellet Lube?

I hope this doesn't sound condescending.... But as someone who has shot air rifles most of their life, I think pellet lube is a waste of time. I go through atleast 2,000 pellets a month at my local range, and although I shoot a premium gun and use JSB exacts, if I do my bit, the gun will put...

    The old Britishblades forum

I agree, in contemplation, its clear why it isn't discussed much here and rightly so really. I've no axe to grind either, more just disappointed that EM didnt turn out to be a replacement BB as i and others had hoped.

    The old Britishblades forum

I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion on here regarding EM. I joined as BB disappeared, and initially, it was a great place to be. Sad to say, but its now a shadow of its former self. Lots of makers left, as did members, and even though we are now years down the line, there is still...

    Planning Galloway Forest

Huntersforge, would i have enough room to pitch my Varanger here? Theres some grassy areas near the parking/picnic area, is there anymore flat land near here? I have also seen that there is a £2 charge to access the forest drive, but in truth, i havent been asked to pay once, and I havent seen...

    Bites causing blisters

I'm amazed that no one has mentioned 'Smidge' I've been on four, five day trips out to Galloway Forest, from early May to now. The first trip I had some Jungle Formula DEET stuff. I got absolutely nailed. Before my second trip, I was in Tamarack Outdoors, and Mike suggested I try some...

    Planning Galloway Forest

Thank you guys. She did come back on Monday as we were leaving. She approached me with the same attitude, asked me why I had disobeyed her I took her to her sign, explained I’ll leave no trace, and I’d moved my car. I explained that she was like an attack dog with the way and manner she...

Thanks for the reply mate. I’m just really glad that the sign she was so keen to point me at, and was convinced said no camping, simply said if camping, please do so responsibly. She hasn’t been back so far today, but my car is still down the road, so I’m breaking no rules so to speak. There...

    Planning Galloway Forest

Guys, I wasn’t sure where to post this, but I could use some advice... I came back to the otter pool this morning, parked in the same place, pitched in the same spot. I’d been here an hour, I was cooking some sausages, and a ranger came, and very rudely told me I had to pack up, and I couldn’t...

Looks a very similar setup to mine mate. Is that the 6-8 man? I have the 8-10 man Camp version. I have a Cyprinus carp Bed/Chair in mine, with a memory foam mattress. I also have the Frontier Stove. I too have been in my Varanger Camp down to around -8 and I was lovely and warm. Nothing better...

    Planning Galloway Forest

Just an update on this guys.... I made my way to Clatteringshaws and had a walk around, I was struggling to see anywhere where i would have enough room to pitch the Varanger, so I made my way down towards Loch Dee, and found a place to park and pitch up by a small stream just downhill from the...
