    Recommend a YouTube Channel

I've been watching this guy for a while. His channel is about him renovating 2 stone cabins in the Italian Alps for him to live him. Very chilled and interesting. https://www.youtube.com/@MartijnDoolaard/featured

New axe, eye a bit splintered. Problem or no?

Best thing to do is take a few swings with both, see which one feels better. The heartwood may have a little more shock down the handle due to it being a little harder.

New axe, eye a bit splintered. Problem or no?

Tbh, the replacement has a better handle (cracks aside). The grain is tighter. Personally, i'd keep that one and send the original back.

How to find a good tattoo studio.

If you have to book months in advance, they're good. If they are available at your convenience, they are not well regarded.

    Just width mate.

    Knife scales size

I cut my scales at 10mm. Once you add on the liners and tang, that gives me a good inch to play with. For most that's more than enough. What's the measurement of the widest part of the handle you have? A nice thick handle is beneficial when needing full grips for more powerful cuts, but not...

    Nice one Phil.

Your top 3 steels and why?

RWL is better as it is a powder steel ( actually so is CPM come to think of it, confused it with 154CM). Smaller/cleaner grain structure, looks like porcelain when heat treated correctly. Not used CPM to make something, but used it on other knives. I do prefer RWL

Autumn's here, the spiders are trying to come indoors !

Unfortunately for the spiders, we now have 7 cats. They don't get far.

    Choosing a wood splitter...

Nice machine Hugh. It's more than i'll ever need for keeping the woodburner in the new workshop fed though. I'm still able to enjoy manual splitting, and i don't have anywhere near as much work to do as you guys do. I did treat myself to a chainsaw, as i was getting bored of felling and bucking...
