    howdy all, well there is still snow on the ground here so im no out and about muc, but have been carving some bows, spoons and spatulas as well as the odd kuska or two, had a couple of plays at smithing too which is all fun. Enjoy the spring i am certainly looking forwards to it!

    leather in cambs

    hi folkes - i found a roll of about 1m by 1m of a muddy tan coloured leather. Its not veg tan, or high grade, it has a chemical almost plasticy (and water resistant) coating. Ive made axe masks etc from it and its resiliant and easy to work. but i want to be clear not high grade nice sheath...

    I second oak leaf wine - although its mainly the other things in it that add the flavour - ginger wine is also ver easy to make very drinkable. Got an oak leaf wine from 2004 just here...never had the occasion to open it - will be interesting to see if it aged well or badly. Lots of the home...

    hi all, while packing ive found a good sized sheet of leather. Its not veg tanned or anything particularly nice - it has a slightly plasticy finish. But i have used it for making several axe masks and so on. Anyhow i dont want to transport it, if anyone wants it and can pick up in cambridge soon...

    Yeah unfortunately they are scattered around the country now, just realised the damascus Sighn Daub i dont think i have any pictures of - hmm a lesson there take pics of the things you do, cos you'll forget what it was that you did and have to re-learn it everytime!

    Erm - yeah basically - its on a thread here hmm called Neuyer or somethign like it Get beech elaves when they are really young and still have the downty hair soft and visable - at the same stage they are quite nice in a salad and soft and rather tactile. Stuff em into a bottle quite tight...

    I'll add a photo as soon as i work out how. But while out and about we found several piles of thck white creamy (looks like wallpaper paste) which had been erm squeezed into small piles about 2.5 long and about 2" tall. The locations are similar to where you might expect to find otter spraint...
